Technology
The entire team at C4th Dental Centre emphasises patient comfort and satisfaction, so we do our best to stay on top of the latest in modern dentistry. Technology means we can offer a high quality of care, and it often means patients spend less time in the dental chair.
Here are some of the ways we are incorporating dental technology in our Seaforth, NSW dental clinic.

Intravenous Sedation
As the name implies, the medication is delivered intravenously. We put some medication through your arm to relax you. The goal is to keep you sedated lightly and comfortably, so you’re still breathing on your own but not too aware of what’s going on around you. You’ll still be able to let us know if anything is bothering you and can respond to us if we ask you how you’re doing, but in many cases, you won’t remember much about your treatment. The sedationist or anaesthetist will monitor your blood pressure, pulse and breathing throughout the procedure to keep you safe, and we can make the sedation stronger or weaker as needed to keep you comfortable. Afterwards, you’ll usually feel groggy, and you will need someone to take you home after your appointment.

Laser Dentistry
Laser dentistry provides us with a minimally invasive way to treat gum disease and other oral issues. It is most commonly used for periodontal treatment, root canal therapy, benign oral tumours and teeth whitening. For surgical procedures, healing times are sometimes much faster with laser dentistry.

Piezosurgery
In keeping with our goal of incorporating the latest in modern dentistry into our dental surgery, we are pleased to offer a piezosurgery device. Using piezoelectric vibrations in the application of cutting bone tissue without cutting soft tissues, sometimes we can eliminate the use of stitches after the surgical procedures. Each cut is much more precise than using conventional method and it reduces the amount of bleeding. This leading-edge technology typically promotes bone healing and enhances patient recovery.

Laser & Rotary Endodontics
Because people have a tendency to fear root canals, we are pleased to offer rotary endodontics in our Seaforth, NSW dental surgery to help the procedure go more smoothly than ever. Rotary tools often mean more precise root canals and better outcomes for patients. Dental laser is always used in our clinic to disinfect the whole root canal system prior to the completion of treatment in order to increase the success rate.

Digital X-Rays
Digital x-rays are a standard part of many dental examinations, but not all patients understand just how much they can benefit from this modern dental technology. Prevention is crucial when it comes to taking care of your oral health, and digital x-rays enable Dr Huang to see below the surface of the teeth. The tiniest bit of tooth decay might not be visible in a visual examination, but when it is viewed with an x-ray, it can be treated with a minimally invasive filling. Digital x-rays can also discover other abnormalities in your mouth, helping to ensure you get treatment earlier rather than later. Patients who might be concerned about radiation from digital x-rays needn’t be. They expose patients to far less radiation than their traditional film x-ray counterparts, so they are safe for most people. If you know or think you might be pregnant, please be sure to mention that to us; we can determine whether it makes more sense to wait to take an x-ray.

Intraoral Camera
Where digital x-rays leave off in terms of viewing the mouth, the intraoral camera is available to pick up anything that might have been overlooked. These tiny cameras, about the same size as a dental mirror, offer Dr Huang the opportunity to see the tiniest places in the mouth that might not be seen with just a digital x-ray. If he spots an area of concern, he can show you in real time what the problem is, which can be helpful in making educated decisions about treatment recommendations.

Nitrous Oxide
Dr Huang has plenty of experience dealing with anxious patients, and they appreciate his compassionate nature and gentle touch. When more is needed to take the edge off because of dental fears, our Seaforth, NSW dental clinic offers nitrous oxide. This odourless, tasteless gas is breathed in through a mask over the nose, providing a calming effect that is almost euphoric. The ‘happy gas’ leaves the body just as quickly as it enters, so after your procedure, you can drive yourself home or back to work with no lingering after-effects.

Televisions in Treatment Rooms
We want you to be able to relax while you are here, so we have televisions in the treatment rooms. Tune in to your favourite programme and enjoy some downtime while you are in the dental chair.

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) Centrifuge Unit
Only a few other dental clinics in the country offer this cutting-edge technology that aids in healing after extraction and helps to rebuild bone after periodontal loss or gum grafting. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is made from the patient’s blood that is collected before the procedure begins. The blood is processed in a PRF centrifuge unit. Because it is from the patient with nothing extra added, there is no risk of infection or rejection, just superior healing and regenerative results. It is an excellent adjunct in grafting soft tissues and bone. By placing a PRF plug in extraction sockets also accelerates healing with much less post-operative pain and swelling.
