We Use Modern Technology

Laser Dentistry

At our Seaforth, Sydney dental clinic, we appreciate the role modern technology plays in the way we provide treatment for our patients. It is one of the ways in which we believe our dental surgery serves our patients. Advancements in materials and techniques often mean Dr Lincoln Huang can provide more accurate, precise treatment that can sometimes lead to better patient outcomes.

Laser dentistry is one of the ways we have incorporated technology into our dental surgery. Dr Huang uses both soft and hard tissue lasers, so he can use this advanced dentistry on both the teeth and gums.

The less invasive and more precise nature of laser dentistry can go a long way toward calming even the most anxious patients.

Soft Tissue Lasers

There are numerous ways in which Dr Huang uses laser dentistry on soft tissues.

  • The removal of diseased or dead gum tissue
  • Removing bacteria at or below the gum line
  • Reshaping the gum line for a more aesthetic look
  • Crown lengthening

Without the use of a soft tissue laser, surgical treatments are often required for these periodontal procedures. Using a scalpel and sutures is much more invasive and also slows down patient recovery times.

With the use of a soft tissue laser, there is no cutting involved. The laser not only trims the gums but also utilises the heat of the laser to seal the tissue along with the nerve endings and blood vessels. Laser energy sterilises the area, reducing the risk of infection. Bleeding is minimal, and most of our patients report much quicker recovery times than with sutures.

Hard Tissue Lasers

Our dental clinic also utilises hard tissue lasers to prepare teeth for treatments such as fillings and tooth bondings. Dr Huang may also use laser technology during root canal treatment to better sterilise the tooth root before filling and sealing it.

Benefits of Laser Dentistry

We realise that dental anxiety is a reality for many of our patients. Dr Huang is known for his gentle touch and compassionate nature, but sometimes these personality traits are not enough to quell the most severe dental anxiety.

Laser dentistry is an excellent treatment option for patients who dislike dental visits. Because of the precision and speed that often accompanies laser dentistry, some patients might be able to opt out of sedation while undergoing treatment. Others might find that nitrous oxide along with laser treatment is more than enough to keep them relaxed in the dental chair.

Patients who undergo laser treatment appreciate the less invasive treatment and faster healing times that often accompany this type of dentistry.

We Welcome New Patients

We invite you to find out more about how dental technology, including laser dentistry and other high-tech tools, can make it more enjoyable to receive dental care. Laser dentistry is safe for patients of all ages. Seaforth Central Centre is accepting new patients, and Dr Huang treats children, teens and adults in our Seaforth dental clinic.
